Women Development Cell

In pursuance of the directions issued by UGC and MHRD, the university has set up the women development cell (WDC) in the academic year 2009 -2010. The main objective of the cell is to build a gender-sensitive campus. The cell address concerns of gender discrimination and recommend measures and policies for gender parity at the university. The cell looks into the grievances of the women staff members (teaching and non-teaching) as well as female students and provides guidance and help to them.

WDC carries out its activities throughout the year by organizing awareness programs and workshops on gender sensitization, domestic violence, women rights, health and hygiene for students, premarital counseling, eve teasing & methods of tackling it etc.. In order to promote women’s studies and to translate the component of empowerment of women, the university introduced free education for meritorious girls in the year 2014.
