Profile of the Department:

With the aim to develop one of the best Industrial Chemistry educational institute in the country the course has been designed to develop trained manpower for Research and Development as well as Quality Control Laboratories of pharmaceutical, fine chemical and allied industries. Students have good Synthetic Chemistry and analytical exposure in the laboratory.
The Chemical Industry in India is on the threshhold of revolution that will make it power to reckon with in the post WTO era. It has been growing at a rate twice of growth of G.D.P. and therefore requirement of skilled manpower has also increased. Industries Viz, SRF, High Polymer, Ion Exchange, Sun Pharma, U-Flex, Cadila, Lupin, Jubilant, Renkem, Asian Paints, Dabur, Shimadzu, Pepsi  Food, Dioners specialty Chemicals etc are some of the companies which employ Industrial chemistry students.

Instrumentation:

Department is equipped with UV-Visible spectrometer, FT-IR, Gas Chromatograph, Karl Fisher Titrator, Nephelometer, Conductivity meter, PH-meter, Bulk density meter, Pressure Reactor.

The Department of Chemical Science endeavors to be a nationally-recognized model for educating and graduating students prepared to compete in and contribute to the ever-changing, technology-centered world of the 21st century.  To achieve this vision the department is committed to providing a course of study for undergraduates in chemical sciences which combines curriculum, scholarship and service/engagement opportunities that are high-quality, innovative and intellectually challenging and employ state-of-the-art technologies.

Mission:

Act as mentors to undergraduates through advising them in research.
Teach students the value of cross-disciplinary thinking by providing them with educational and research opportunities between chemistry and other fields of study.
Promote innovative curriculum development while exposing students to advanced instrumentation and technology.  So they can find placement.
Encourage community engagement by providing students with service-learning and community-based research opportunities.
Encourage students to value diversity and to develop a global perspective through international experiences in chemistry.
